Woo-ho! Last Friday night (19th of October) was all about some helluva good ROCK @ Tampere, Jack the Rooster (Best - place - ever!), Lost in Music 2012!

the RoadRunners starting up |
Me and my sis decided to go, because we knew
Santa Cruz was playin'. I was happy to notice that also the band playing before them (
the RoadRunners, from Lahti) was great. On stage were drums, bassguitar and three electric guitars. For me the most incredible thing was that they're instrumental Rock band. Pure twang! I just fell in love, completely. It had nothing to do with the three guitars, trust me... :D Nah, who am I kidding? It had
everything to do with them! I don't need to tell I love guitars, right? ;)

wicked playing |
But to get real, they rocked good. Awesome! I was all thrilled, 'cause I really love twang. Always have, always will, so it's no wonder they galloped right into my heart. After the RoadRunners got off the stage, and went outside the bar, I started to get anxious. I really wanted to go and tell the guys their show was amazing. So as two of my good friends joined us to see Santa Cruz, I grabbed my sister and we went out to meet the RoadRunners one on one. The guys were flattered we came out and thanked them. We chatted for a little while about something and nothing, and got some hints where we could catch the band live again. I got a chance to take a band pic of them, they took it well and joked about it. That was great.

The RoadRunners are:
Samu Aaltonen: Guitar (lead/rhythm)
Saku Aaltonen: Guitar (lead/rhythm)
Sami Etholén: Guitar (rhythm/weird sounds)
Arto Viitanen: Bass (Beard)
Jere Aaltonen: Drums (impossible drum parts)

Santa Cruz on stage |
Soon after we heard that Santa Cruz had started to play, so we thanked the RoadRunners' guys one more time and went inside to see how the place was rocking. It was hard to get to our table, as the people in front of us probably thought we were trying to take their place. I'm glad they let us pass, and we got to our friends by the window, right in front of the stage.
Santa Cruz was on fire, and the gig was steaming. Those guys definitely know how to rock it right. ;) Jack the Rooster was so full not everybody had a place to sit. I myself sat on the back of the sofa behind my sister and our friends, who managed to keep their seats on the crowded sofa.

Johnny in the smoke |
I enjoy music, but when ever on a gig I know I want to remember something about, I almost immediately start taking photos. I live to take some rocking shots. ;D

At first I stayed where I was, but as the gig went on I really needed to see the stage from another angle. I pushed my way through the crowd right to the other side of the stage. As my "own place" was next to bass playing Middy, I now was next to Johnny, who plays the guitar. As I was sneaking to that end I stopped and tried to photograph the vocalist/guitarist, Archie, with not that much good luck. Also the drummer, Taz, was almost at all times hidden from my camera, or in so much smoke my photos didn't turn out the most excellent. However I got some stunners from Johnny, as he played his guitar and I kneeled down to take some shots. After a while I pushed my way back to my friends and took some pictures from there, before going back to my "real place" right next to Middy.

I'm glad I took some funny ideas on how to take my photos, and got some of them working okay. I got some pretty good shots from that night of R'n'R. .\,,/

When Santa Cruz had stopped playing, and were gathering their stuff from the stage (to make way to Doom Unit), I got surprised by Archie. He was putting his guitar into its case and suddenly greeted me. He stepped down from the stage and asked if I got good shots from the gig. I told him I think I got some pretty nice ones, and he laughed at me.

When he went away for a moment I turned to my sister with amaze. "How can he remember me? I've only got to go at one gig before, and he seems to know who I am. What the hell?". She was as surprised as I was, but as we thought it over, I noticed something. Archie might remember me from FaceBook, as Santa Cruz has shared some of my photos from Nosturi in their band page. I cannot tell how good I felt at that very moment. Perhaps at least Archie appreciates my photos. That was a complete WHOA! I'm kind of proud of it too. Haha!

I caught Archie again, when he came back to the stage to gather more their band stuff away, and asked if I could take a Band shot of Santa Cruz outside Jack the Rooster. He said it would be cool and promised I'd have it. After a while I went outside with my sis and friends, and watched Taz, Johnny and Middy walk back inside the Rooster. Soon after, Archie passed us too. He noticed me and yelled that he'll fetch the other guys and they'll come back out for the photos. Another moment of amaze for me! Soon the guys came out, and Archie made some jokes of finding some idiots to pose in the pictures with him. I had so much fun taking those pics... You won't believe it!

My friend insisted me and my sister to get a photo with the guys, and they were happy to include us in their rocking row. My friend took some pictures of us, kicking and laughing with Santa Cruz. The best pics of the night, if you ask me!
After all that we thanked the guys for the amazing show and the great photos, and I said I'm hoping I can catch them more often from now on. Archie was sure I'll be seeing them around. And honestly, I wish he is right!
That night was so much fun and great time it will probably make me smile for at least the whole winter. ;D
