Drawings and Tribute

It's time for my second blogging in English. EEK!

17th of March
@ Kulttuuriareena, Kuopio
I really wanted to share something different this time and ended up with this. What there is to come is a couple of stories from my past Reckless Love gigs (dah!). Hope you'll have fun reading them. And yes, they have really happened ;) I've been a lucky bastard, and I hope my luck won't change. This kind of little stories and happenings are the joy of life. Right?

I also hope that all the RL fans out there could get their chance to meet the guys in person. They're really awesome dudes, and as they concure the world I hope they manage to keep in touch with their fanbase. Because you know... It's kinda true what they say: if it wasn't for us, they'd be nowhere. ;)

Drawer Girl

this is the very first
Reckless Love drawing
I've made
Yeah, I know, this title is kind of funny but it has its point. In the pictures to come, you’ll see couple pieces of my art. A drawing I did about the guys, but wasn’t at first sure if I should give them a copy or not. I can reveal: they did get a copy, though I was nervous about how they’d take it. You’ll perhaps understand it when you see the photo. It’s a joke... Something I just needed to do, and then show them to see if I can get them into laughing.

At the first Reckless Love gig I ever attended to I had couple of my drawings with me. I had drawn pictures of the guys, one on each and one as a group. I told the guys they could have the group picture, and Hessu took it saying it was great, as I was struggling to talk to Olli and Jalle about the other works. Those two went through all the drawings I had with me. Olli was laughing and telling me I had got carried away when drawing his eyes. I agree: it’s definitely not the best Olli I’ve drawn since. But on the other hand, Jalle was very impressed of my works - especially the one of him. I told him I could take a copy of the drawing, and bring it to him to the next concert I’d come to.

I honestly didn’t think the guys would remember a damn thing about that time, but was proven wrong as I went to talk to Jalle after the second gig. I asked him if he remembers me, and his answer was a total surprise: “Sure I do. You’re the girl who draws”. My heart was jumping pretty fast in that moment of “WOW”.
Olli & Pepe took the
jokeful drawin I made
for them.
(not the pear-ass thing!)
As I went on more gigs, I sometimes had the time to show the guys some of my art, and... Well as time passed by they all started to remember me as the girl who draws a lot, and were jokefully asking me “What do you have now?” if I had my file with me. It doesn’t bother me; it’s just funny to be remembered.
Olli once told me I should draw a picture of them where they all were fat and had huge pear-asses. It was kind of a challenge, because I tempt to draw things a little prettier (don’t know why, it just comes out that way). But I gave it a shot, and draw the guys as fatties. I gave it to Olli and he was amused by it. Afterwards, once when interviewed, Olli talked about me and showed the “pear-ass” drawing to the camera from his mobile. I was blown away by the credit he secretly gave me. I really had no idea he liked it that much.

I take it all, everything they’ve said and done after seeing my art, as a compliment that they perhaps appreciate some of my cartoonish caricatures. And at least they’ve had some laughs off of them, just like I have. So...mission accomplished, yeah?

TRIBUTE

Pepé @ Night Club Tähti
Pepe, who has always been my biggest idol of the Reckless Love guys, was badly ill on the first concert I ever saw them play, and I didn’t get to meet him. So I took my chances on the next ones to come, and found out Pepe is a total sweet heart. I mean he’s perfectly nice and kind, but still frustrating in that funny way. Don’t get me wrong, they’re all like that, down to earth, and not doing any divo shit on the fans. But for me, finding out my number one guitar-idol is like that... Willing to talk to me and hang with me? It’s just awesome.  I’ve never had that.

I think he came to know a little of my appreciation towards him after that one concert at Loimaa. I was nervous while going to get autographs from the guys afterwards the gig. It wouldn’t be so big of a deal, if I haven’t decided to tell Pepe something. Don’t get me wrong, I wasn’t about to confess some sort of “never ending love” to him. No. I’m not like that. When I got up to him I asked him to write an autograph into my arm so that I could take a tattoo of it. Pepe was about to fall off his chair and he refused to write on my arm. I fell on my knees and begged him to write it. We fought about it a little with him just before Olli, sitting next to Pepe, turned to us and joked that he could write Pepes autograph on my arm. Then he got a little serious and told me I should use one written on a paper. I told him I was about to, but I just wanted to see how it would look on my arm, and that I didn’t have the money for a tattoo yet. That’s when Pepe agreed to write on my arm, but mumbled how he wishes I’d never get the money for it.
As I walked away from the guys I was literary shaking. I couldn’t breathe properly, and my legs wouldn’t work. I fell on my knees on the grass near Reckless Loves tour bus as we were walking pass it with my sister, and started to hyperventilate. I covered my face with my hands as I wasn’t sure if I’d start to cry or not. I was sitting there, with my sister holding me, for some time. The guys walked pass us, as they were getting into their bus. Each one waved at us for a good bye, even Pepe though his expression was confused. I think I freaked him out with the tattoo thing. Guess he’d never expected someone to do a thing like that.

I felt twisted afterwards but wasn’t going to let Pepe change my mind. I gathered the money for the tattoo and got it. Now it’s on my left arm, almost on the same spot where Pepe himself has his triquetra. The place wasn’t planned, but I and the tattooist agreed that would be the best spot. Over a month later as I was again on a Reckless Love concert, I had a chance to show my tattoo to Pepe. He was kind of cute when I showed it to him as we were discussing tattoos after I admired his triquetra.
Me: “Look, I’ve got a ‘band tattoo’ like this” showing off my left arm.

Pepe: “Hm? Whoa... Damn, I don’t have my camera on me” with that WOW-factor in his voice.
That was a thrilling moment for me. And I think it was something that shocked Pepe, but I hope in the good way. He has never said he’d be angry I have the tattoo. In fact, as the anniversary of my tattoo passed last September I tweeted about it in my Twitter, and Pepe re-tweeted it. In my opinion that tells something positive. ;)

Yeah, well... That was all I wanted to share with you folks now. It's time to gather my gear and be going again. ;D Oh my, it seems like forever before I'll get to see the RL guys again.
Hessu Maxx @ Aukustirock

 I know it's pathetic, but I
really miss them and
their great rocking. I
still have two and a half months to go before the next time. I haven't had that in almost two years. Uh, it's going to be tough one I bet.
I guess the guys don't really understand how much good they've done for me, and many of my friends. It's unbeleavable how much music can do.

After all, I'm more than happy the guys are out there in the world. That's exactly what they've been dreamnig of, and now they get to live it. It's amazingly beautiful!

...Sometimes the words are not enough to tell how proud of them I am. Funny, right?

Hey world! Be good to our boys! ;)
